Foot soak is not a new thing. The homemade foot bath is a cure that has always been recommended by our grandmothers, to help relieve a cold, a running nose or to just relax and tone our body and spirit.

Behind all cures coming from our ancestors there is an explanation, even though nowadays we believe granny’s cures are old fashioned and some of them stay underestimated.

The healing properties of the water – hydrotherapy (aquatic therapy / balneo therapy) are known for thousands of years. They were used by the Ancient Egyptians, Thraciens and Romans to cure different conditions, to relieve pain, to detox our bodies or to just keep our beauty.

The oldest recorded use of Hydrotherapy date back to ancient Egypt, where royals and nobles took warm baths of water mixed with flowers, herbs and oils.

In the hurried life that we all live, a spa procedure is all we dream for at the end of the working week, but not always we have the time or the financial possibility to spend time at the spa or go for a vacation in a hotel with mineral water or hot springs. That is why we would like to share with you our tips and recipies for beneficial and healing foot soak!


Tea tree oil – Strong antifungal and antiseptic oil, reduces conditions like itching, swelling and burning of athete’s foot.

Lavender oil – Suitable for a relaxing bath, it has also anti-inflammatory and pain relief effect for sre feet and joints.

Wild Mint oil – Wild mentha essential oil has a cooling, refreshing and stimulating  effect on the skin, which makes it a great idea to be added to a refreshing summer foot soak.

Oregano oil – It is one of the most powerful antibacterial essential oils.

Lemon oil – A favorite essential, it is envigorating for the body and the spirit, it is ideal for energizing foot soak, but as well for a detox foot bath.

Chamomile oil – Promotes a sense of tranquility, it has a strong antiseptic and antibacterial effect. It helps treating skin conditions such as eczema, rashes, insect bites. It helps to relieve conditions such as arthritis, muscular and rheumatic pain.

Floral water in foot soak – For better effect you can always add 1/2 cup of floral water of your choise to your foot soak -Lavender water, Chamomile water, Rose water, Melissa water



  • Add warm water to your basin, 1/2 cup sea salt (it has similar effect with epsom salt), 1/2 cup of fullers earth clay, 5-7 drops of lemon oil , 5-7 drops of lavender oil . Soak your foot for 15 minutes, than dry with a clean towel and apply a favorite natural cream or a natural oil of your preferance (apricot kernel oil , wheat germ oil or other) with massage movements, in order to stimulate all important points on your feet. Repeat at least 3 days in a row. 



  • Add warm water to your basin, 1 cup of almond milk, 1/2 cup of sea salt water, 15 drops of rose oil , add 10gr of rose petals. Soak your feet for 15 – 20 minutes, than dry with a clean towel, massage your feet with almond or hazelnut oil with added few drops of your favorite eesential oil. Do it always when you want to feel special and spoil your body and senses!


  • Add warm water to your basin, 1/4 cup of baking soda, 1/4 cup of sea salt, 10 drops of Oregano oil  or Tea tree oil , 5-7 drops of lemon oil. Soak your foot for 10-15 minutes. , than dry with a clean towel and apply the Propolis remedial gel with gentle massage movements. For good results repeat the foot soak at least 5-7 days in a row. Keep usinf the Popolis gel or the other products from the line for few months.
